Regarding his opponent’s return after a hiatus from competition, Johnston maintains focus on his own performance:
“Personally I don’t know why he’s coming back to fight me but that doesn’t mean I’m underestimating him,” he remarks: “I can only knockout who’s in front of me, can’t I. But I’m expecting him to try to make a statement since he’s been off for such a long time but I promise you he’s picked the wrong person to do that against.”
When it comes to studying Liddle’s past fights, Johnston admits he hasn’t delved deeply into them: “I haven’t really watched him because like he said himself he’s been off for such a long time and he’s training at a new gym now too,” he explains. “But I know I’m better than him wherever the fight goes.”
As the anticipation builds for their clash in the cage, Johnston paints a clear picture of his intentions: “Once that cage closes and it’s just me and him, just give me 2 minutes and it’ll be me getting my hand raised while he sleeps in the corner.”
With confidence and determination, Tom Johnston stands ready to showcase his skills and secure victory on April 6th. As the Rainton Arena prepares to host this highly anticipated matchup, fans can expect nothing short of an electrifying showdown between Johnston and Liddle. Stay tuned.
