Three-time potential Jake Paul opponent Tommy Fury. Is fearful of being rejected by his family if he loses to Jake Paul. This is according to MMA fighter and recent Boxer Anthony Taylor. Taylor, a former opponent of Fury, seems less than convinced of the Englishman’s skills and excuses for not fighting.
Fury has pulled out of the scheduled bout with Paul on numerous occasions, with the latest issue being visa related. Jake Paul instead will fight 12-1 Heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr on August 6th. Rahman is a step up from Fury according to Taylor.
Anthony Taylor’s Words
Taylor told Vegas Insider :
“If Jake defeats Hasim, you’re not going to see Jake fight Tommy. That would be a step back after defeating Hasim,”
The fighter continued :
“Why take a step back after beating a guy with a great amateur pedigree. Hasim is faster and has more power and experience. If Jake wins there will be no Tommy Fury fight.”
Taylor theorizes that Fury could not hold his head up around his family following a loss to “The Problem Child”, something that Fury knew would happen.
“Tommy is in over his head. Tommy is not afraid to fight Jake but he’s also not motivated because knows the outcome. And he knows the consequences of losing,”
“If he loses, he loses sponsorships, he’ll be disowned from his boxing family – why go through the headache? He’s not scared, there are just a lot of circumstances behind it.”
Do you think Taylor is correct, or is Fury just unlucky?
