Over the years, there have been hundreds of MMA fighters and while they may all have memorable moments, some stand out from the crowd thanks to their history of success and performance. This article will cover four of the most iconic MMA fighters that are sure to be remembered in history for various reasons.

#1: Georges St-Pierre

Kicking off our list is a Canadian who is not only known for his MMA success, but also his current film career. Georges St-Pierre is one of the most successful MMA fighters ever, having held two different UFC titles for a combined nine years.

Weighing just 170 lbs and standing at 5 foot 10 inches, Georges is respected for taking down opponents significantly larger than himself. And, being based out of Montreal, Canada, has made him a fan favourite for many Canadians. Unfortunately, however, his career ended in 2019 so you will no longer catch him on the octagon, but you can continue seeing him in numerous films and TV shows.

#2: Ronda Rousey

No MMA list would be complete without the mention of Ronda Rousey, who was one of the first female fighters to make a big name for herself in the UFC. Starting in 2011 as a bantamweight fighter, her career took off quite quickly and she soon became one of the most popular UFC fighters ever.

Ronda is best known for being accurate when it comes to grappling and striking, which gave her an edge over other fighters. Besides this, she has also managed to prove herself worthy of many awards, which include a UFC Hall of Fame induction in 2018 and many ESPY awards over the years.

#3: Anderson Silva

Nobody knows how to control the octagon better than Anderson Silva, and his track record speaks for itself. As a retired MMA fighter and father of 5, Silva has a whole lot under his belt both in medals and dad jokes.

A quick glance at his history in the MMA brings to light why Silva is such a well-known name in the sport. He was the UFC Middleweight Champion for 2,457 days and holds the record for most consecutive title defences at 10. In addition to this, Anderson has also won numerous titles in other fighting organisations such as Pride FC, Cage Rage and Shooto.

#4: Conor McGregor

The final name on our list is the one that needs no introduction; Conor McGregor. Chances are that whether you know what the MMA is or not, you know about Conor McGregor. Starting in 2008, he joined the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship and soon became the lightweight champion. This accomplishment opened many doors for him and ultimately led to his career in the UFC.

McGregor has competed in a few different divisions over his career including featherweight lightweight and welterweight. However, his peak performance came during the featherweight championship when he won the title and became the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts in different weight classes.

He’s also known for his brash attitude, fearless spirit and amazing trash talking skills, which have been entertaining millions of fans over the years. This makes Conor McGregor one of the most beloved fighters in MMA today, and it’s no wonder why he has made it onto this list. Oh, and he is still at it 16 years later, so he could be worth keeping in mind if you plan to bet on combat sports at Lottoland.

Final Thoughts

While we couldn’t possibly cram all of the memorable names into this list, there is no arguing that these four fighters are amongst those who have made the biggest impact in the world of MMA. Whether it be for winning back-to-back titles, being the first to hold two belts in different weight classes, or just their entertaining personalities, these four fighters have achieved legendary status, and only time will show where they go next.

A few MMA fighters have made huge splashes over their career, and for Lottoland betters looking to bet on the most promising of the bunch, these four memorable fighters could be worth considering!

Out of the four selected, George St-Pierre, Ronda Rousey, Anderson Silva, and Conor McGregor, who stands out on top?
