Tyron Woodley has had an incredibly successful career in MMA. He has won the UFC welterweight championship and has beaten great competition throughout his career. Woodley is no longer with the UFC and has only competed in two boxing matches with Jake Paul since his last MMA fight. In the fight game, it is not rare for fighters to return to the UFC. In a recent interview, Woodley revealed that Israel Adesanya would be the only fighter he would come back to the UFC to compete against.
The Career Of Tyron Woodley
As previously stated, Woodley has had a great run in MMA. The highlight of his career was winning the welterweight championship. He has a professional record of 19-7-1 with 12 finishes. Woodley has beaten the likes of Stephen Thompson, Robbie Lawler, and Darren Till. He is a powerful wrestler and has an excellent pedigree to go along with that. However, during the latter stages of his UFC career, he went on a losing streak. The American fighter lost to the likes of Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington, and Gilbert Burns. After he departed from the UFC, Woodley had boxing matches against the charismatic Jake Paul. Those matchups were at 190 pounds, 20 pounds heavier than what he competed at in the UFC. He came up short in both matches, making it intriguing to see what version of Woodley would know if he returned to MMA.
Woodley On Adesanya
Adesanya is one of the biggest names in MMA today. The Nigerian-born fighter has made quite the career for himself. He is known for his captivating personality and sensational striking. He is coming off a loss to Sean Strickland, which has left many people wondering what is next for Adesanya. On the Jaxxon podcast, Woodley explained why he would like to fight Adesanya.
“Only thing that would get me back to the UFC, the only person I would want to beat the f—k out of is Israel Adesanya,” Woodley told the JAXXON PODCAST. “I don’t like him. Cause he cap. He was never Israel Adesanya … how do I do this? I filter myself now.
“Israel Adesanya, on TMZ, they asked me who was next up. I said, ‘I like this Israel kid. He’s a little different, but he’s got some pazazz, right? His character. He’s flashy but a good martial artist too, so I think he’s the next one to watch out for,'” he continued. “This was when he first started. I already gave you respect. Then they asked me who I wanted to fight. Whoever’s at the top. So, you’re at the top, my brother. That’s a salute. I never wanted to fight Nick or Nate [Diaz] or [Michael] Bisping or Conor [McGregor] or Georges [St-Pierre] because I thought they were weak, easy, or they were wack. I thought they were the best. To be the best, you got to beat the best.”

What’s Next For Adesanya
When thinking about what is next for Adesanya, it is hard to see Woodley fitting into the picture, as Adesanya would most likely want to have a fight that would get him close to the title. Furthermore, Adesanya may be getting an immediate rematch with Strickland. However, if that doesn’t happen, many top contenders in the middleweight division would love to have a shot at Adesanya.
It’ll be interesting to see what Woodley does next in his career, but it will be entertaining whatever he does.
