Tyson Fury is going to great lengths to prepare for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title.
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will face off again in Riyadh, with Fury gaining weight for a more aggressive rematch strategy.
Confident as the bigger man, Fury focuses on revenge, distancing himself from his family during intense training.
Tyson Fury Reveals Sacrifices Made for Usyk Rematch: ‘I’ll End His Career
During a recent interview with Queensberry Promotions, Fury revealed the extreme lengths he has gone to in preparation for his rematch with Usyk. Speaking about this Fury said;
“I’ll end his career; you won’t hear about Usyk after this,”
“It’s been a long camp, haven’t seen my wife or kids in three months. I haven’t spoken to [my wife] at all in that time. I’ve sacrificed a lot, but it’ll all be worth it—100 percent.”
While it is unclear if Tyson Fury was speaking literally, his comments suggest he has taken a different approach to this camp compared to their first fight. Fury admitted that his showboating in the ring likely influenced the outcome of their first fight.
Before his defeat to Usyk, Fury was unbeaten in 35 career fights, and he’s shown a knack for bouncing back in rematches, as seen in his two victories over Deontay Wilder.
Fury Aims for Redemption Against Usyk After Signs of Regression in Recent Fights
Fury has shown signs of regression in his split decision victory over Francis Ngannou, with many believing Ngannou deserved the win. This was evident in his first fight with Usyk, where Tyson Fury struggled against Usyk’s jab.
Fury aims to regain the form that saw him knock out Wilder twice, along with victories over Chisora and Whyte. He is considered one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
A win over Usyk would set Tyson Fury up for the holidays, making his time away from his family worthwhile.
