Tyson Fury is an incredible boxer and is one of the biggest names on the heavyweight scene today. He holds the WBC title, with his reign likely not ending very soon. In October, he will face former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in an exhibition match. Fury has been very open about his struggles with mental health over the years. The British fighter says that the only person who can beat him is himself.
Tyson Fury On Who Can Beat Him
Fury has paved quite the legacy for himself, but he has done so by beating every challenger that has come his way. He has a perfect professional record of 33-0-1 with 24 knockouts. He has defeated the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Derek Chisora, and Deontay Wilder. His hand speed is impeccable, his footwork is sensational, and his power is unstoppable. Due to Fury’s skills, it is hard to see anybody beating him. Speaking on the Out of Interest podcast, Fury said the only person who can defeat is himself.
“Toughest opponent is me, every single time. The only person who can beat Tyson Fury is himself. Mentally. The toughest battle I’ve ever had is mental health. You never, ever defeat it. You can never win against it. Ever.”
Moving Forward
It is essential to keep looking forward, and Fury reiterated this message when speaking on the podcast.
“My top tips for battling mental health is this. Small short-term goals, a structured, routined lifestyle, fitness and health, working out, and just living one day at a time. Eating well, drinking well, and that’s about it.”

What’s Next For Fury
When thinking about what is next for Fury after the Ngannou fight, he has many big names to take on in the heavyweight division, for example, Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz, or Oleksandr Usyk. The contest with Usyk is the most intriguing one, as they are both exceptional talents inside a boxing ring and are undefeated. A match between the two almost happened, but it didn’t come to be due to negotiations. As previously stated, there are a lot of top contenders in the heavyweight division that Fury can take on.
Fury is a legendary fighter and seeing him in the ring is always interesting.
