Many sources around the boxing world have been saying that Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury have signed a contract for them to finally square off in the ring. There have been talks between the two fighters for a long time, and they will ultimately go toe-toe-to-toe in a massive heavyweight clash. The fight will be for the undisputed heavyweight title as Usyk holds the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO belts, and Fury holds the WBC belt.
Oleksandr Usyk A Tremendous Fighter
Usyk is an incredible fighter and has shown his exceptional ability every time he enters a boxing ring. The Ukrainian boxer has tremendous speed, power, and boxing IQ. He has a professional record of 21-0 with 19 knockouts. He is coming off a dominant title defence against Daniel Dubois, where he managed to stop the formidable challenger. In addition, Usyk has beaten the likes of Anthony Joshua, Tony Bellew and Derek Chisora. As well as the heavyweight titles, he is also a former cruiserweight champion, and it is safe to say he hasn’t lost any of his ability moving up a weight. Usyk will look to be the first man to defeat Fury and become the world’s undisputed heavyweight champion.
The Charismatic Tyson Fury
Fury has had an exceptional boxing career and has achieved many great things in the sport. The British fighter is known for his intriguing personality and impeccable skill set. In October, he will enter the ring against Francis Ngannou as he now looks to get out of the fight and sustain the least amount of damage possible. Like Usyk, Fury has a perfect professional record and has many notable wins under his belt. By taking the fight Fury has proven critics wrong, as there was talk that he doesn’t want to take any dangerous contests. Fury will look to follow in fellow British boxer Lennox Lewis’ footsteps and become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
How The Fight Could Play Out
When thinking about how the fight will play out, you can see it in many ways. Fury would seemingly be going into the bout as the favourite due to his size and reach advantage. However, Usyk has been dealing with the problem of being an undersized fighter throughout his career and always seems to triumph. Both are very equal in terms of their skills inside the ring. It may just come down to whether Usyk overcomes the physical aspects that Fury brings.
It is a fight that boxing fans worldwide want to see. A contest between the two looks like it may finally be happening in December or January.
