Saturday night marks the UFC’s return to Brazil for the first time since 2020, the first with fans since November 2019. Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill headline the fifteen-fight card from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro. In the US, the UFC 283 card is available to purchase on ESPN+ PPV, with the prelims being shown on ESPN2 and the early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. However, in the UK, both the main card and prelims will be shown on BT Sport 1, included in your BT Sport subscription, with the early prelims being shown on UFC Fight Pass.
As mentioned, Glover Teixeira (33-8) takes on Jamahal Hill (11-1, 1 NC) for the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship. The Brazilian will be looking to claim 205 gold for the second time whilst Hill is making his title debut. The co-main slot plays host to the first-ever quadrilogy in UFC history as Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-1) and Brandon Moreno (20-6-2) battle it out for the UFC flyweight championship. Gilbert Burns (20-5) faces Neil Magny (27-10) in the welterweight division, while Lauren Murphy (16-5) squares off against Jéssica Andrade (23-9), who returns to flyweight. In the main card opener, there is UK interest as Scotland’s Paul Craig (16-5-1) goes up against the always-entertaining Johnny Walker (19-7).
The main event action gets underway at 3 am GMT/10 pm ET, with the prelims from 1 am GMT/8 pm ET and early prelims at 11 pm GMT/6 pm ET.
