The UFC returns to Miami for one of the most highly anticipated fight cards of the year with UFC 299 – we have the weigh-in results right here.
In the main event, Sean O’Malley will look to defend his bantamweight championship for the first time while having an opportunity to avenge his only MMA loss. UFC 299 is O’Malley’s coming out party as world champion and with a win, it could skyrocket the “Suga” brand into the stratosphere.
Many fight fans have criticized the fact that Marlon “Chito” Vera does not deserve a title shot. Vera’s record may be inconsistent but his mentality and vicious skill set when put in the cage with any opponent is undeniable.
Vera has a previous win over the champ and UFC 299 has presented an opportunity that a hungry Vera could make it 2-and-0 vs. O’Malley, silencing every critic that believes he didn’t deserve a world title shot.
The co-main event is a high-calibre fight that has the old guard being defended by Dustin Poirier against the violent marauder, Benoit Saint-Denis.
It is hard to forget about the exciting welterweight matchup between Kevin Holland and Michael Page, who is making his UFC debut.
Honestly, UFC 299 has something for every fight fan and could potentially be the fight card of the year.
Weigh-ins go down early Friday morning, followed by the ceremonial weigh-ins later in the day. Full weigh-in results for UFC 299 can be found below!
