Nate Landwehr is set to showcase his true character as he goes and prepares for a thrilling featherweight showdown. This is when he faces off against Doo Ho Choi at UFC 310.
The two featherweights will face off on the undercard of Alexandre Pantoja’s flyweight title defence against Japan’s Kai Asakura at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Among the fighters currently on the card, Landwehr and Choi appear to be the most evenly matched. This is due to them both being seasoned veterans who are eager to stay on a winning streak. Regardless of the fight’s outcome, however, Landwehr is likely to have one key focus on his mind as he steps into the UFC octagon.
Nate Landwehr Prepares for UFC 310 Showdown with Doo Ho Choi Amid Personal Tragedy
Nate Landwehr has delivered a series of exciting performances over the recent years, being able to earn performance of the night in three of his last four UFC wins. However, his career then hit a setback last year with a defeat to Dan Ige. Since that defeat, the 36-year-old has bounced back with a stunning first-round stoppage over Jamall Emmers, putting himself in line for another major opportunity.
On the other hand, Doo Ho Choi has only won one of his last five fights, though three of his defeats have been able to earn him Fight of the Night honours. While fans can expect a thrilling matchup between these two, Landwehr has had to deal with heartbreaking personal news during his training camp. This is due to his wife unfortunately suffering a miscarriage. Speaking about this to Middle Easy Nate said;
“It’s just like a fight, man,”
“You’ve just got to keep fighting. We went through IVF, where they had to retrieve my wife’s eggs and fertilize them.”
Nate would then go on and continue when he said;
“We ended up with five viable boy embryos and one girl embryo. We tried to implant the girl, but she attached and just didn’t quite make it. Her name was going to be June Marie.”
UFC 310: Landwehr vs. Choi Set to Steal the Show
With their history of being able to earn bonuses, Nate Landwehr and Doo Ho Choi are primed to steal the show at UFC 310. Being able to deliver an action-packed battle for the fans in attendance.
However, the UFC 310 card also features several other fighters who could make a major impact on the night. For example, the welterweight clash between Shavkat Rakhomonov and Ian Garry promises to be an intense match-up. This is an interesting fight due to the contrast of styles. Additionally, heavyweight contenders Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov could leave their mark on the event with an exciting, back-and-forth spectacle.
