The UFC returns to Abu Dhabi for a stacked fight night card, headlined by a brilliant bantamweight matchup with huge title implications.
Perennial contender Cory Sandhagen faces off against rising Dagestani star Umar Nurmagomedov. At 17-0 Nurmagomedov is rapidly hunting down a shot at bantamweight gold but Sandhagen is by far his toughest test to date. Russian Icon Khabib Nurmagomedov will be present and in the corner of the prospect and in the opposing corner is superb striking coach Trevor Wittman for the ‘Sandman’. In a late notice co-main event sharpshooter Shara Magomedov takes on battle tested Michał Oleksiejczuk. Magomedov has impressed in his first two UFC bouts showing off unorthodox striking and he hopes to impress once again in the venue he made his debut.
Bantamweight will provide another stellar fight on the main card with former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo competing against the always violent Marlon Vera. Figueiredo has been phenomenal since his move up to 135lbs beating Rob Font and former champion Cody Garbrandt at UFC 300 in excellent fashion. The pride of Ecuador, Vera is looking to bounce back after a title fight loss earlier this year against Sean O’Malley.
UFC fans can look forward to the debut of Jordan Vucenic, the former Cage Warriors featherweight champion has been submitting the whole roster in yellow gloves and gets his well earned shot in the UFC. He faces Guram Kutateladze, the Georgian lightweight has had a tough start to his UFC career but always provides vicious entertainment. A fierce fight to watch is Joel Alvarez and Elves Brener kicking off the main card. Fan favourite Tony Ferguson aims to snap his horrendous losing streak of seven straight defeats.
