UFC went down last night producing a solid night of fights in front of a vocal crowd. With 13 fights and eight finishes, take a look at who we think were the biggest winners from UFC Atlantic City.
UFC Atlantic City Biggest Winners
Caolán Loughran
Our first of our three biggest UFC Atlantic City winners is Ireland’s Caolán Loughran. The former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion, Loughran found his way into the UFC off the back of his impressive performances in the European promotion.
After dropping his debut bout to Taylor Lapilus via unanimous decision back in September. The pressure was on for Loughran to prove himself to the wider audience.
Well, last night he did just that. Putting together a dominant performance against Angel Pacheco winning every round. Showing a high level of striking, competent grappling and an all-round solid skill set.
Kyle Nelson
Our second biggest UFC Atlantic City winner is Kyle Nelson. After his first six bouts in the UFC, The Canadian found himself with only one victory inside the cage with a record of 1-4-1.
Entering last night’s bout on a two-fight winning run. Nelson has a tough opponent in front of him in the form of Bill Algeo.
Turning in a career-best performance, Nelson would fight fire with fire. Taking Algeo on toe-to-toe it was Nelson who landed the killer shots, wobbling his opponent, before scoring the TKO victory late in the first.
Joaquin Buckley
Our third and final UFC Atlantic City winner is Joaquin ‘New Mansa’ Buckley. A man whose wins and losses could be a highlight package all by itself. Buckley is an always entertaining fighter.
After an entertaining run at middleweight, where Buckley would always fall short of the rankings. New Mansa dropped to welterweight and has found great success. Now winning three in a row last night was a career high.
Taking on the always dangerous Vincente Luque. Buckley was unphased by the number 11 ranked welterweight. Looking slick through the first, landing good power shots and negating any return fire. Buckley would score the victory after the Brazilian pulled guard. Buckley would throw a barrage of punches as his grounded opponent shelled up forcing the referee to step in. This sees Buckley enter the welterweight rankings.
