If the backlash to Bryce Mitchell vs Kron Gracie being on the main card before UFC 310 was strong, it is even louder now after their peculiar contest.
Gracie, the Brazilian submission expert, delivered what could be considered one of the worst performances of the year. His social media is now flooded with angry UFC fans demanding that he be cut from the promotion.
Bryce Mitchell Survives Close Armbar Attempt in Dominant Win Over Kron Gracie at UFC 310
Kron Gracie’s performance at UFC 310 was painfully underwhelming, with just six significant strikes, zero successful takedowns, and a mere two seconds of control time before being knocked out.
The only real threat to Bryce ‘Thug Nasty’ Mitchell came when he voluntarily gave up his arm for a submission attempt, which nearly resulted in an armbar victory for Gracie.
Bryce Mitchell would later explain to TNT Sports;
“If I’d have postured up, he would have broken my arm. I’ve trained with some of the best arm-bar specialists in the world, and it took all my knowledge, patience, and wisdom to escape.”
“About a minute before he had me in it, I knew I was in trouble. I was trying not to give up my back. I felt like the choice was either let him take my back or give up my arm. My instincts told me not to let him take my back or he’d break my neck, so I gave him my arm and did everything I could to keep it safe. It was really, really close.”
UFC Fans Lash Out at Kron Gracie After Disappointing UFC 310 Performance Against Bryce
Due to the poor nature of Kron Gracie’s performance and the controversy surrounding his main card placement against Bryce Mitchell. UFC fans have expressed their frustration with the Brazilian fighter.
A quick glance at the comments section of his latest Instagram post shows the backlash, with one fan calling him a “Disgracie” and another stating “Your performance was incredibly disappointing. The comments don’t lie.”
Since other users have made their comments adding;
“I don’t like hating on fighters but Jesus Christ. I’m so glad you got knocked out.”
“So entertaining watching you get knocked out. Nice guard pulling.”
“You have the worst fighting style for the UFC.”
“Bro, it was amazing when you jumped guard, closed guard, laid on your back like a white belt, and got punched. Great strategy, clown.”
“The classic Gracie BJJ style is so over. Pulling guard like that doesn’t work anymore. The average MMA grappler simply has too much wrestling skill.”
The backlash has been overwhelming on various social media accounts with X (formerly Twitter) being particularly harsh since UFC 310. After his knockout victory over Gracie, Bryce Mitchell has not only apologised to Joe Rogan for his previous comments but was also called out for a potential featherweight clash against ‘The Korean Superboy’.
