The UFC Charlotte main event featured a heavyweight bout between Jailton Almeida and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
Rozenstruik, 13-4, came into the bout with a big knockout over Chris Daukaus after previously losing back to back to Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes.
Almeida, 18-2, is undefeated in the UFC. With a TKO win over Shamil Abdurakhimov, this upcoming bout is the biggest in Almeida’s career. Almeida wil be looking to cement himself as a future title contender with a win over Rozenstruik.
The fight ended in the first round after Almeida took Rozenstruik down and worked with his grappling. Almeida worked on the ground until he could secure the rear naked choke and tap Rozenstruik early. Almeida will ikely fight a higher ranked opponent as he jumps into the top ten.
