The second fight on the UFC 287 main card featured a striker’s delight, with loud mouth Kevin Holland facing off against Argentina’s own Santiago Ponzinibbio.
Kevin Holland (23-9-0 MMA), one of the most active fighters on the roster, has seen himself return to welterweight in 2022 due to difficulty handling the wrestling aspect of the game at middleweight. He is currently 2-2 at welterweight, including two performance bonus wins over Alex Oliveira and Tim Means. In his last outing, fans were surprised to see him stand and strike with one of the best strikers in the UFC in Steven Thompson. He subsequently lost the fight via TKO (corner stoppage) in the 4th round. Holland will look to get back into winning ways with a victory over Ponzinibbio.
Santiago Ponzinibbio (29-6-0 MMA) amassed an impressive record of 27-3 by 2018 with wins over Neil Magny, Mike Perry and Gunnar Nelson. Due to complications due to staph infection, Santiago was side-lined from the sport for just over 2 years, where he returned to fight Li Jing Liang. He lost the fight via KO in the first round. Since his return, he is 2-3 and looks to carry the momentum of his most recent KO win over Alex Morono into this fight and secure the victory over Kevin Holland.
