UFC San Antonio’s co-headliner featured a women’s bantamweight bout between former UFC champion Holly Holm and Yana Santos.
Holm (14-6 MMA) entered the bout after a ten-month layoff. In her last outing last May, Holm suffered a split decision loss to Ketlen Viera. Prior to that, she was riding a two-fight winning streak after earning hard-fought decisions over Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana.
Santos (14-6) boasted a mirrored record of her opponent heading into the bout. The 33-year-old last bout occurred in 2021, where she was defeated in the first round by Aldana. Before that, Santos was riding high on momentum after picking up wins over Julija Stoliarenko and Viera.
The bout was a complete shutout from start to finish in favor of Holm. The UFC veteran was able to control the fight wherever it went and the experience showed. Santos was unable to offer any threat towards the former UFC bantamweight champion.
Official result: Holly Holm Def. Yana Santos via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)
