Fan favourite Molly McCann and Julija Stoliarenko will co-headline tonight’s UFC London card in the O2 Arena.
McCann is back in the arena, which catapulted her career to new heights after a stunning spinning-back fist knockout over Luana Carolina last March. Four months later, the Scouser made it three back-to-back wins after stopping Hannah Goldy in the first round, blowing the roof of the O2 Arena. However, after the best spell of her UFC career, it came to an end after running into Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281, where McCann was submitted in the first.
Meanwhile, Julija Stoliarenko is perhaps fighting for her UFC career after picking up one win in five UFC bouts. Stoliarenko dropped to flyweight, which turned heads due to her extreme weight cuts in the above-mentioned weight class. After losing three straight when joining the promotion in 2020, the 30-year-old picked up her first win at UFC 276, submitting Jessica-Rose Clark in round one. The positive result was short-lived after she suffered a round-one knockout loss to Chelsea Chandler at the back end of 2022.
The fight never really got started before McCann found herself on the canvas in desperation. The ground game of the Liverpudlian has shown to be her weakness in the past and a weakness Stoliarenko capitalise on.
Official result: Julija Stoliarenko def. Molly McCann by first-round submission via arm bar.
