At UFC 304 top lightweights Paddy Pimblett and King Green clash for the #15 ranking. Liverpudlian Pimblett wants to take the number and become a ranked fight in the UFC.
Paddy Pimblett v King Green Fight Preview
Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett wants to make home advantage count in his biggest fight yet. He has an opportunity to capture the #15 ranking with a win over King at UFC 304. ‘The Baddy’ is so far undefeated in the UFC with a 5-0 record. He started his UFC career with a spectacular first-round submission over Luigi Vendramini. He followed that up with another finish on his return to the UK against Rodrigo Vargas. The finishes kept coming with his next bout against Jordan Leavitt, also in London. Paddy would then face adversity against Jared Gordon with many believing he lost the fight, nevertheless, Paddy would continue and pick up his latest win against Tony Ferguson. A win against King would set up Paddy for a run at the top 15 towards the end of 2024.
37-year-old King Green has hit a purple patch late in his career and currently holds the #15 spot in the division. Veteran King holds recent impressive wins over Grant Dawson, Tony Ferguson and Jim Miller at UFC 300. Most impressive of this run was his KO of rising contender Grant Dawson. King will want to upset the hometown crowd with a win over Paddy Pimblett and cement his place in the top 15. This fight against Paddy represents a chance for King to cement his place in the top #15 and start to look at the top 10.

Paddy Pimblett was able to check early calf kicks which King Green did. This was before delivering a steady stream of his own calf kicks to slow King Green down. Paddy Pimblett would then begin to accurately land single counter shots onto King Green. This was before King Green would start to become frustrated and went for a takedown. This would get countered by an inside leg kick from Paddy.
From this position, Paddy Pimblett would then apply a guillotine and pull guard before sweeping his way into a choke attempt. This then forced the referee Lucas Bosacki to stop the fight in the first round due to King Green losing consciousness.
