It’s fair to say UFC Paris was a gigantic success, with the French crowd coming out in full force to create a memorable atmosphere around the Accor Arena.
Much to the fans in attendance’s delight, their hometown hero, Ciryl Gane, was able to pull through and deliver a ferocious knockout to Tai Tuivasa despite facing an early scare.
The main event was 100mph from the get-go. Gane started strong, landing several strong jabs and began to frustrate Tuivasa. With that being said, in the heavyweight division, it’s a game of inches with the power each man possesses. Tuivasa was able to find the target that dropped Gane to the canvas. Gane managed to clear the cobwebs and slowly wear away at the body of the Aussie with perfectly placed body kicks. The body kicks took their toll and marked the beginning of the end of the visitor, as Gane put-together a flurry of punches and some hammer fists to close the show.
The crowd in attendance was pleased for their countrymen. They weren’t the only ones, as a handful of UFC fighters took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the main event.
