The rumours of a UFC Macau event has been officially confirmed by the UFC. The UFC made this announcements on various social media such as their Instagram and Twitter. So, there will be UFC Fight Night Macau where the UFC shall return to China specifically Macau. The card will take place in the Galaxy Arena on November 23rd of Saturday and is looking good.
UFC Macau Announced
The main event headlining UFC Macau will be an amazing match up at 135lbs Petr Yan vs Deiveson Figueiredo. Yan has returned to winning weighs after losing 2 very close fights in a row to Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley then being dominated by Merab Dvalishvili. Yan snapped the losing streak by beating rising prospect Song Yadong at UFC 299 looking in good form. More impressively Yan fought with an injury and after the fight had to get surgery subsequently. Figueiredo has also been in great form since moving up to 135lbs riding a 3 fight winning streak. Most recently Figueiredo did an absolute job on Marlon Vera being the first to drop Vera. This fight is guaranteed fireworks.
The rest of the announced fights for the card are looking good. Xiaonan Yan vs Tabatha Ricci is on the card Yan being the last challenger for Zhang Weili’s title. Despite Weili comprehensively winning Yan gave a good account of herself and gave Weili some problems. Ricci is also riding some success.
Volkan Oezdemir is fighting Carlos Ulberg in a light heavyweight bout. Both men are riding recent success Oezdemir is riding off of 2 wins over Bogdan Guskov and a KO over Johnny Walker. And Carlos Ulberg is on an impressive 6 fight winning streak with notable wins over Ihor Potieria and Alonzo Menifield.
Other Fights
Kenan Song will fight Muslim Salikhov. This is a fun fight between 2 mixed bags. Song notably gave Ian Garry some trouble when he badly hurt Garry in the early rounds of their fight. And Salikhov despite being in his 40s is still able to put on entertaining performances.
Cong Wang will be fighting Gabriel Fernandes. Wang made a serious impact in her debut. She made herself stand out scoring an emphatic KO against Victoria Leonardo. Wang is undefeated in her MMA career and so far has made a great impression on fans. Wang also holds a win over current champion Valentina Shevchenko beating her in a kickboxing match.
Mingyang Zhang will fight Ozzy Diaz. Zhang made his debut at UFC 298 with an exciting performance against Brendson Ribeiro. In fact that fight got Zhang performance of the night. Diaz is making his debut in the UFC with this fight and had an impressive run in LFA. Both men look to be potentially promising prospects at 205lbs.
Lone’er Kavanaugh will face off against Jose Ochoa. For both fighters this will be their debut in the UFC and both have very impressive records. Ochoa is 7-0 with all his wins coming by way of finish either by strikes or submissions. Kavanaugh also boasts a 7-0 record 5 of those wins being by finish. This looks to be a very fun matchup of 2 talented potential prospects at 125lbs.
and last but not least will be a fight between Nyamjargal Tumendemberel and Carlos Hernandez. This is another fun matchup between prospects at 125lbs. Tumendemberel is 8-0 with the majority of his wins coming by submission and is making his debut in the UFC. Hernandez is 9-4 and has lost 3 of his last 3 fights in the UFC. However, his opposition has been quality losing to highly touted prospects Tatsuro Taira and Rei Tsuruya.
Overall this card is looking very good and will certainly be one to watch.
