Tomorrow night the UFC makes it debut in Saudi Arabia as part of Riyadh Season. The card itself has experienced some changes but overall the card itself is looking good.
The main event was supposed to be Whittaker vs Chimaev an extremely anticipated fight. However, Khamzat Chimaev had to pull out due to health related issues and Ikram Aliskerov stepped in. Ikram has a hell of a task in front of him with Robert Whittaker. A win over one of middleweights top guys and big names would do Ikram a world of good and propel him into the title picture. Whittaker looks to defend his spot as number 3 in the division against this young prospect.
The Co-main is an exciting heavyweight matchup between 2 Russian destroyers. Sergei Pavlovich is a surging heavyweight contender who has obliterated all but 2 of his opponents in the 1st round. In his last outing Pavlovich was knocked out by Tom Aspinall but prior to this he was tearing through the division with his ridiculously heavy hands. His opponent Alexander Volkov isn’t exactly feather fisted but is more known for being more technical with his rangy kickboxing. Volkov has also been working on his grappling recently.
Other notable fights on this card include Kevin Gastelum vs Daniel Rodriguez. D-Rod looks to break a losing streak against well known middleweight and welterweight UFC veteran Gastelum. Another fun fight is Johnny Walker vs Volkan Oezdemir guaranteed fireworks. prospect Shara Magomedov also fights on this card and is someone to look out for with his exciting kickboxing style.
