A surprising revelation has come from a UFC legend regarding the earnings Mike Tyson will reportedly make for his fight against Jake Paul. The bout, initially slated to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20, was postponed. The fight has since been rescheduled and will now happen on November 15, streaming live on Netflix.
Nakisa Bidarian, Co-Founder of Most Valuable Promotions, shared some insights about the new schedule:
“Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time,” Bidarian stated.
He added that the event will remain at AT&T Stadium despite the Dallas Cowboys’ season:
UFC Star Reveals Mike Tyson Jaw Dropping Jake Paul Purse
“We appreciate the outstanding dedication, collaboration, and flexibility of our partners at Netflix and AT&T Stadium,” he continued. “Paul vs. Tyson is the most cross-generational sporting event in history, and we are committed to providing fans worldwide with this unforgettable night of boxing, live globally on Netflix. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, November 15 for a showdown that will be talked about for generations to come.”
Earlier this year, UFC star Henry Cejudo made an interesting claim about Tyson’s earnings. Speaking on his podcast with Kamaru Usman, Cejudo suggested that Tyson could earn around $20 million for this fight. “I mean, you know what I respect, Uncle Mike… But it obviously takes two to tango,” Cejudo said. “I feel like there is probably a really good payday for Mike. He’s probably going to wind up making close to about 20 mil, and he’s about to turn 58 years old.”
Adding another perspective, former UFC champion Daniel Cormier commented on the challenge Jake Paul faces. According to Cormier, Paul could find himself in a “no-win situation” against Tyson. “It might ruin you if he just beats on Mike Tyson. He’s in a no-win situation,” Cormier explained. “I don’t know that he thought this one through as much as he probably should have been, because if you just go out there and you just beat the sh*t outta Mike Tyson. Everybody’s gonna be really mad at you. I mean, really mad.”
