In a week full of new UFC signings the UK bantamweight prospect Melissa Dixon has announced a 4 fight contract with the elite organisation.
Ares FC
Dixon signs her UFC contract with a 5-0 record built in Ares FC and Golden Ticket Fight Promotions . Ares FC is based out of France with a wealth of talent on it’s roster for a smaller organization in comparison to the UFC, many believe the best middleweight outside the UFC is Ares champion Abdoul Abdouragimov.
Dixon’s last two fights in Ares were wins against Rizlen Zouak and Darya Zheleznyakova, the latter came into the bout with a 7-0 record. The first round finish in her last fight against Zheleznyakova is her most impressive win and she can build on that now in the roster of the elite.
What Next for Melissa Dixon
Fighting out of Coventry, England in Lions Gym one would think Dixon could have debuted at London but with that event six weeks away it seems unlikely. However, with a return to Paris in September Dixon could return to France where she has spent most of her fighting career. At only 5-0 she will be asked to learn quickly to survive at the top of the sport where dangerous fights come thick and fast. A potential opponent for her debut could be 6-0 Canadian Jamey-Lyn Horth who made her UFC debut in April earning a unanimous decision victory over Hailey Cowan.
There is some fun matchups for Dixon on the horizon and the signing gives hope to all the aspiring Women who are just starting their mixed martial arts journey in the United Kingdom. The path and proof has been set by Coventry’s own and marks a big day in the sport for UK women.
How far do you think Melissa Dixon can go in the UFC?
