Mick Parkin debuted in London this summer and put on a flawless performance against fellow Contender Series alumni Jamal Pogues. His second outing will be against another alumni of Contender Series, Caio Machado. The Brazilian holds a record of 8-1-1 and earned his contract in August with a great victory over a streaking prospect on an 11 fight win streak.
Record of Mick Parkin
At 7-0 Parkin is looking to climb higher into the ferocious whirlwind of new breed heavyweights in the UFC. He resides in a monstrous gym in North West England where he rolls alongside UFC title contender Tom Aspinall and KSW champion Phil de Fries. Most impressively for Parkin was his submission win in the Contender Series that earned him his UFC contract, and therefore showed the well rounded skillset of the brit. His performance in London showed a great level of maturity and comfort in the limelight which can only bode well for the future. With only 7 fights under his belt there are bound to be learning experiences ahead but it has been so far so good.
November 18th Fight Night
Middleweights headline the UFC Apex card in mid November. Paul Craig gets his first main event slot since joining the UFC he takes on Brendan Allen who is in the form of his career. Both men are grappling wizards each of them boasting 13 career submission wins. Allen is on a 5 fight win streak which is his longest streak in the company since joining in 2019 and Craig is looking for his second win at middleweight after his successful debut in the weight class this July. Allen will be a stern test for the Scotsman he has 12 fights in the UFC and one of his only two losses came against the new champion Sean Strickland. There is already some British interest on the card with Craig and also Christian Leroy Duncan looking to get back in the win column.
