Dakota Ditcheva returned in style at PFL Europe 3 Paris, picking up a massive TKO win over Cornelia Holm. Ditcheva’s fourth straight finish leads her straight to a spot in the PFL Europe flyweight tournament championship.
Dakota Ditcheva vs. Corneila Holm
The first round started off tough for the Manchester native, with Holm having success holding Ditcheva against the cage. Ditcheva was able to land some strikes with her back to the cage, but nothing that generated real power. Holm attempted four takedowns in the round, with only one landing followed by brief success.
Ditcheva started round 2 off hot, with a big right hand followed by a pair of big kicks. Holm continued her gameplay of pressing Ditcheva against the fence, however, the ref was quick to separate them after minimal action took place there in the first. From there, Ditcheva reversed a takedown attempt from the Swede and landed some solid strikes from the top. Ditcheva stood back to her feet and continued to use her superior kickboxing to work at range.
Round 3 was a technical beatdown from Ditcheva, who was able to maintain the range and pick apart Holm at range. After landing multiple big kicks to the body and legs throughout the round, Ditcheva landed a beautiful combination that included a fight-ending body shot. Holm crashed to the canvas and Ditcheva swarmed, being pushed away by the ref stepping in.
The fight was stopped at 2:55 of round 3, becoming the seventh knockout of Ditcheva’s nine-fight undefeated career. The win secured Dakota Ditcheva a spot in the finals in the women’s flyweight championship of the PFL Europe tournament against Valentina Scatizzi. Scatizzi and Ditcheva squared off following the win, with mutual respect between the two but also some intimidation techniques from Scatizzi. Their championship bout will take place at PFL Dublin on December 8th.
