After her impressive UFC Vegas 94 main event victory over Amanda Lemos, Virna Jandiroba made her ambitions clear by calling out the undisputed strawweight champion.
In the main event last night, Brazilian contender Virna ‘Carcara’ Jandiroba showcased her skills with a slick second-round submission win, seizing the opportunity to target ‘Magnum’ Zhang Weili.
While much of the combat sports world was focused on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry boxing match in Florida, 36-year-old Jandiroba was making waves in Las Vegas. Dominating the first round on all three judges’ scorecards, Jandiroba found herself in a scramble with Amanda Lemos in the second round. In the ensuing battle for position, ‘Carcara’ swiftly locked in an armbar, securing her 14th submission victory and earning a $50K ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus.

Ranked #5 in the strawweight division heading into the fight, Jandiroba showed she’s not interested in waiting for a number one contender bout. Her sights are set firmly on the title.
In her post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Jandiroba expressed her gratitude to her opponent and laid down her challenge for the championship, “First and foremost, thank you so much to Amanda. We have the same origins and roots; she’s a tough fighter like me, so it was a pleasure to share the octagon with her,” she said.
Turning her attention to the UFC brass, she made her intentions clear: “And Dana, I’m the next one. I’m the one who needs to get that title shot.”
Jandiroba’s confident callout and impressive performance have certainly put the strawweight division on notice. Fans will be eagerly watching to see if her wish for a title shot against Zhang Weili comes true.
