Amateur middleweight fighter Joe Ambler has gone strength to strength since beginning his MMA journey in 2019. Ambler is yet to taste defeat and is on a destructive path taking out anyone in his way.
Last month Almighty Fighting Championship 23 took centre stage in Barnsley at The Metrodome. Ambler put his Almighty FC title on the line against Ryan McNally. Both men talked before the fight, but Joe Ambler walked the walk.
Ambler promised fans he would stop McNally within three rounds, and that’s what occurred. The Submission MMA representative successfully dismantled his opponent, getting him out of there in the third round.
Joe Ambler vs Ryan McNally
The fight began with both men timidly trying to get a read on one another’s distance. Shortly after both men insinuated the grappling, with McNally trying to get the champion to the mat. However, Ambler made life difficult. Ambler finished the first, the stronger of the two, backing McNally up against the fence and landing heavy blows.
McNally started the second round with a real sense of urgency, which saw his kick caught by Ambler, and resulted in him being taken down. The remainder of the second consisted of Ambler in cruise control, smothering his opponent, and chipping away with shots.
Within seconds of the third round, it was evident that the belt wasn’t going home with Ryan McNally on the night. Ambler reversed a takedown attempt, resulting in McNally finding himself on his back again. The raining defending Almighty FC champion, Joe Ambler, mounted and rained down a barrage of heavy strikes forcing the referee to intervene. All in all, a dominant win for the defending champion.
Ambler Makes Another Statement at Almighty FC 23
Joe Ambler continues to dominate the amateur middleweight rankings in the United Kingdom and is an extremely hard night at the office for anybody.
The victory at Almighty FC 23 marked his first title defence moving him to (5-0). However, Ambler was in action two weeks after at Full Contact Contender 28, where he collected another belt by defeating Emile Vujakovic, earning “champ champ” status.
It remains to be seen where Joe Ambler will go next from here. Perhaps a professional debut could be on the horizon in 2023?
