Max Holloway corner had the same reaction we all did last Saturday when Max Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje. This fight was for the BMF Title.
Max Holloway Clinched the BMF Title
Max Holloway was coming into this fight looking to clinch the title from Justin Gaethje. This fight happened last Saturday (13th April) from the T-Mobile Arena at UFC 300.
Max Holloway was in firm control of the fight as he was able to get the rounds on the judges’ scorecards. Holloway went into the last round having secured the fight on two out of 3 scorecards and was going to go on to win the fight. Holloway decided to gamble with the victory. This is due to him inviting Gaethje to have a slugfest for the remaining few seconds. 10 seconds remaining in the 5th round Holloway pointed to the center of the octagon and told Gaethje to leave it all in the cage. Holloway and Gaethje then went and had some wild exchanges which resulted in Holloway being able to knockout Gaethje. This came with only one second left on the clock.
Holloway Corner Reaction
Everyone in the arena lost their minds, including the corner of Max Holloway who couldn’t hide their excitement. “Let’s F*ucking Go!” shouts came from the Max Holloway corner. However, you can tell when the knockout happened as the corner jumped out their seats celebrating. The corner could not believe what they had seen and neither could anyone else. Footage down Below;
Marc Goddard Footage Released
While everyone was celebrating and cheering for the knockout which had just happened one man was meant to stay neutral. That would be the referee Marc Goddard. A referee is meant to be fair and not have sides however, even he couldn’t believe what he saw during the fight. Goddard wished he could show the fans the footage of him after Holloway got the knockout and the UFC has granted his wish. Check out the footage down below;
