Mark Heffron Vs Lennox Clarke
A great weekend of boxing is in the books. Mark Heffron beat Lennox Clarke by TKO in the 5th round. Improving his record to a respectable 28-2-1 with 22KO’s ( that is a 71% knockout ratio)
The fight ended in the 5th after Heffron initiated some absolutely brutal work to the body. This created the opening for a big left hook to the head, buzzing Clarke and putting him on wobbly legs. The referee had seen enough as Heffron began to unload an onslaught to the head and body with Clarke against the ropes giving no response. Heffron is now the Commonwealth and British super middleweight champion.
Dennis McCann Vs James Beech
Dennis McCann moves to 13-0 7KO’s after a completely dominant performance over a brave James Beech.
The fight was stopped in the 8th round after Beech’s corner threw in the towel! McCann came flying out the blocks from the first bell, earning himself a 1st round knockdown. A huge uppercut got Beech going, and McCann just did not let up, applying the pressure until Beech hit the canvas.
Dennis did seem to take his foot off the gas and switch off a little over the middle rounds, but soon shifted into high gear at the beginning of the 8th, dropping Beech yet again with a powerful right hook. Beech beat the count, only to be greeted with a flurry of well-timed, accurate shots from McCann. Beech’s corner had seen enough, and in came the towel!
Hamzah Sheeraz Vs Francisco Emanuel Torres
Sheeraz moves to 16-0 12KO’s (75% Knockout ratio) after beating Francisco Emanuel Torres by technical knockout in the 5th round.
Sheeraz started as expected. A strong, dominant start, making sure Torres knew he was in for a fight! In just the second round, Sheeraz rocked Torres with a big left hand as he took control of the second round.
Torres saw the canvas twice in the third but also put Sheeraz down himself in just the same round! Though scoring a knockdown over the heavy favourite, the end was inevitable. Sheeraz finished off the Argentine with a big powerful right hand!
That sums up yet another great night card from the weekend boxing!
