Ahead of fight night, we had the chance to catch up with Zanyar Kamaran, who is pumped to perform for his fans.
Interview With Zanyar Kamaran
Zanyar, you’re a week out from another fight under those bright lights. How much do you enjoy preparing for a fight, fight week, and finally making the walk to do business?
I feel really good. I am well prepared and trained hard for this event. I am really confident and ready for the fight.
You’ve been out once this year when you picked up a win over Aaron Hake on FCC. Upon reflection, how satisfied were you with that win and performance?
Regarding my last fight with Aaron Hake on FCC, I was really satisfied with the end result! I managed to secure my first career finish via first-round RNC submission.
Those athletes I have never spoken with, I like to ask them about their journey into MMA. Can you give a brief background on yourself and how you found MMA?
Regarding my background, since an early age, I have found an interest in wrestling. In my home country, I have always been training in all aspects of mma fights, such as boxing and wrestling. I have done this since an early age, and when I arrived in this country, I found myself at MFA Academy in Middlesbrough. I have been training here for two years now and am really happy with my coach and teammates.
Kamaran Talks BFC 4
Ahead of BFC 4, you struggled to find an opponent after someone pulled out. Did this negatively affect your preparation in any way?
Upon ten days before the fight I did not have an opponent. I didn’t feel too good about that at the time because I really wanted to fight and gain more and more experience, and I have been preparing for this fight regardless because I was still training.
Everybody gets into MMA for a reason. What was your reason, and what’s your end goal?
My reason for joining mma is to progress into professional fighting and, get into UFC, and furthermore to become champion one day.
You will now face Joe Ellias. What do you make of this fight from a stylistic standpoint, and how would you evaluate Joe’s game and skillset?
Regarding my opponent, I am not interested in what his game plan is. I have been watching his fights. I know he might try to strike for a takedown. I will show him my defence skills and my takedown skills.
Another win would see you move to 2-0 in 2023. What does 2024 look like for you? Have you mapped out an ideal plan in terms of how many fights you’d like to get under your belt?
In regards to 2024, I would like to fight as many times as possible in all events, and I hope it will be a successful year for me.
Finally, tell the fans why they should remain seated when you step inside the cage at BFC 4.
Finally, I can’t wait to get into the cage. I want to tell all my fans to be ready for surprises.
