If you’re a fan of Welsh MMA. You don’t want to miss the sixth Cage Warriors Academy Wales event. Cage Warriors Academy Wales is due to take place in Ebbw Vale on March 26th. Three with three champions are set to make their first title defence.
Organised by Richard Shore and those working at Shore MMA gym, several fights occur in the Ebbw Vale Sports Centre, with amateur titles regularly on the line.
Friends, family and fans of the sport were treated to fireworks at the most recent instalment. Last December saw four champions crowned. Not to forget the thirteen finishes the card produced from the up-and-coming talent.
Cage Warriors Academy Wales Main Event
This time around, we will be gifted with a middleweight championship main event of the current champion, Roan Crocker, and challenger, Rhys Hughes. This will be Crocker’s first title defence after obtaining gold in 2021.
The 22-year-old fights out of Shore MMA and has a current record of 6-2. Four of his wins coming by way of finish. His opponent, Hughes, comes into his second title challenge after losing out to current light-heavyweight champion Mitchell Goode.
This main event is not expected to disappoint with two hard-hitters ready to face off in front of another packed out Sports Centre.
Cage Warriors Academy Wales Co-Main Event
You may already be familiar with co-main event star and current bantamweight champion Levi Batchelor. Another champion from Shore MMA gym. Someone that many will already have an eye on as someone who can certainly take his MMA career far.
Batchelor makes his first title defence, still undefeated and with a great deal of confidence going into what will be a difficult scrap against up-and-comer Kalem John. Also undefeated, John will look to go 3-0 in his first title bout.
The first championship fight of the night takes place between current champion Ieuan Mackenzie and English fighter Joe Taylor. Both fighters have six wins on their resume, with Taylor having only lost once, whilst the champion has three.
Mackenzie won the belt back in December when he got his hand raised against Kenzie Jones, and he’ll look to get another statement win again in March against Taylor.
With a card already stacked with talent, stay tuned for updates and interviews with fighters as they and their teams prepare for the sixth showing of Cage Warriors Academy Wales.
